Acupuncture Beats Drug For Alzheimer’s Disease Treatment
Many studies have confirmed the utility of using acupuncture and Chinese herbology to treat cognitive issues – and we certainly treat many here at the Northside Holistic Center – ranging from memory problems to mild dementia.
This latest study from China suggests that acupuncture may be better for treating Alzheimer’s-related cognitive than a pharmacologic approach.
Acupuncture outperforms drug therapy for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine researchers compared the efficaciousness of acupuncture with donepezil drug therapy for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.  Acupuncture produced superior patient outcomes compared with the drug therapy. In addition, acupuncture did not produce any serious adverse effects.
