Mark Reese, Licensed Acupuncturist
L.Ac, NCCAOM, Director of the Northside Holistic Center
Mark Reese is one of the foremost acupuncturists in Chicago and has been treating the health concerns of patients with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) since the mid-nineties. After earning degrees in microbiology and biochemistry, followed by work in the cancer research field, he realized that his true calling lay in working to heal people in a more direct fashion. From the lab he moved into social services where, among other projects, he created three alternative health clinics for people living with HIV/AIDS at Cook County Hospital, at a shelter for homeless people, and at an agency which served Latinos living with HIV/AIDS.
In the process of working with alternative medical practitioners, Mark became excited by the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine and eventually enrolled in and graduated from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine.
Mark practices at and owns the Northside Holistic Center in Chicago and has previously worked at several integrative medical centers in the Chicago area. He has been on the faculty of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, has taught at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and has served on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ILAAOM).
